Breast Reduction in London Ontario
Yazdani Aesthetics offers breast reduction surgery in London, Ontario for patients who experience physical discomfort, mobility limitations, skin irritation, or self-consciousness related to large or heavy breasts. Breast reduction, also known as reduction mammoplasty, removes excess breast tissue, fat, and skin while reshaping the breasts for a more proportionate contour.
While we typically perform breast augmentations and breast lifts for aesthetic reasons, the breast reduction surgeries we perform have important functional implications. In addition to repositioning an areola, removing excess skin, and improving a breast’s shape, breast reduction surgery also removes portions of the mammary gland. Scars can be extensive and take a long time to heal. But there are also significant advantages to breast reduction surgery. Women with heavy breasts often seek a breast reduction to reduce shoulder, neck, or upper back pain.
Are you ready to make an appointment?
Breastfeeding—and the ways plastic surgery can affect it—is a complex and sensitive subject that we prefer to discuss with our patients personally instead of offering detailed information here. Many factors can affect a woman’s ability to breastfeed, most of which have nothing to do with breast surgery. Breast reduction surgery may reduce the amount of breast milk you can produce, but it depends on your personal history, the condition of your milk ducts, and the state of the nerves in your breasts. Nevertheless, most women continue to produce at least some milk after their surgery. Milk ducts and nerves can regenerate to some extent during later pregnancy, and many mothers breastfeed very successfully even without a full milk supply.
Post-operative recovery can sometimes take four to six weeks, but most women who choose breast reduction surgery are ultimately satisfied with the results, especially when it relieves them of the chronic discomfort associated with large or heavy breasts.*

What Can Breast Reduction Help With?
While some breast procedures focus purely on cosmetics, breast reduction surgery has significant functional and therapeutic benefits. Chronic symptoms caused by large, heavy breasts can negatively affect your daily life. This procedure is designed to provide substantial relief from:
- Chronic shoulder, neck, and upper back pain caused by the weight of the breasts
- Deep shoulder grooving or painful indentation from bra straps
- Recurrent skin irritation, chafing, or painful rashes beneath the breast fold
- Mobility limitations or physical discomfort that restricts you from participating in exercise, sports, and daily activities
- Postural issues and self-consciousness, helping to restore a more balanced, comfortable, and proportionate body silhouette
Am I a Good Candidate for Breast Reduction?
You may be an excellent candidate for a reduction mammoplasty if you are physically healthy, maintain a stable weight, and are experiencing the physical or emotional burdens of overly large breasts. It is important to have realistic goals for the surgery, understanding that the primary focus is long-term comfort and a more proportionate shape.
During your educational consultation at Yazdani Aesthetics, our team will review your complete medical history. For safety and stability, candidates should ideally be non-smokers (or willing to stop smoking well in advance) and have fully developed breasts. If you plan to become pregnant or lose a significant amount of weight in the near future, our surgeons may discuss the optimal timing for your procedure.
What Is Breast Reduction Recovery Like?
Post-operative recovery can vary from patient to patient, but the typical timeline spans four to six weeks for full healing. Most women can comfortably return to light desk work within 1 to 2 weeks following their procedure. Strenuous physical activities, heavy lifting, and intense exercise must be completely avoided for at least 2 to 3 weeks, or until cleared by your surgical team.
During the initial phase of your recovery, you will experience temporary swelling and bruising around the surgical sites. Our staff will guide you through dedicated aftercare routines, which include wearing a supportive surgical bra to minimize swelling and keep the reshaped tissues stable. While post-operative scars can be extensive and require a few months to fully mature and soften, the vast majority of our patients are highly satisfied with the long-term relief and comfort the surgery provides.
